This California Apple Cinnamon Shrub cocktail blends warming cinnamon with the tang of our Fresh Apple Balsamico Bianco vinegar.
Ingredients
- Apple Balsamico Bianco – ½ cup
- Brown sugar – ¼ cup
- Cinnamon stick – 1
- Bourbon – 2 oz (optional)
- Orange bitters – 2 dashes
- Ice – 1 cup
Instructions
- Combine apple balsamico bianco vinegar and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes.
- Add cinnamon stick to the saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes to infuse. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
- Strain the mixture into a clean jar, discarding the cinnamon stick. This is your shrub syrup.
- Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add 2 oz bourbon, ½ oz shrub syrup, and 2 dashes orange bitters.
- Stir well for 30 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.
- Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
