I just found this in my friends spice cupboard and it’s become the love of my life for soups. just when you think you have tasted all the flavors of your soup this sneaks in to finish off with a salty warmth. The first time I used it I was pleased with the extra oomph it added to the soup that took the soup to a more complex tastier version. I’ve used it in lentil soup, veggie soup, spaghetti, veggie based cream soups and I get lots of compliments when I use it in the recipe. I’m not a person who likes spicy food at all, this Salt gives a gentle warmth when you use a pinch or two and doesn’t overpower with heat.
1 can organic pumpkin, the cooked corn off 1 cob, throw in some cooked asparagus (you can cook the asparagus and corn together) Parmesan, Italian spices, garlic powder, a drizzle of Temecula Olive Oil, add 1/4 of the water from boiling the corn, 1/4c of cream, and blend well. add a little of the corn water if mixture is too thick to blend well. Pour into sauce pan to heat. Add a pinch of the fiery salt to soup, mix and then serve. This makes for a super filling, rich soup with a sweet warm flavor. Great paired with bread brushed with their Rosemary Olive Oil and hint of cheese.
