Basil Focaccia Bread made with our fresh-squeezed Fresh Basil Olive Oil & our Olivum Reserve Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 cup Olivum Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Basil Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Fresh basil leaves, chopped (for topping)
Basil Focaccia Bread
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, Olivum Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Fresh Basil Olive Oil.
- Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Press it out into a rectangle shape.
- Drizzle the top with Fresh Basil Olive Oil and sprinkle with chopped fresh basil leaves.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the focaccia is golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing.
